Why You Need a Camera Gimbal As a Content Creator

If you know anything about social media trends for 2021, then you'd know that video is the future. As a content creator, it’s my job to create and edit videos on the go. To make things easier for you, I’ve personally vetted these apps and tech tools that are the best for filming and shooting content.

Also, while having another person with you to capture content is ideal, you can go beyond this method and invest in this smartphone gimbal. I have the by FeiyuTech VlogPocket2, an electronic gimbal designed to complement your smartphone, and it allows me to start recording right away.

It’s ultra-compact, easy-to-use, and very lightweight. And, as someone who can be a bit clumsy at times, it makes my videos look super smooth. What’s more, this pocket-size gimbal has a one-touch portrait mode switch for TikTok creation, too! Since I’m always on the go, this gimbal is great for a carry-on — weighing at over half a pound.

Because workflow is important for content creators, this gimbal syncs with the Feiyu ON app (Apple / Android) showcasing shooting modes and functions. These include video, portrait, landscape, underslung, object tracking, time-lapse, panorama, slow motion, editing, timer, face locking, zoom, filter, beauty, light tracking, and overlapping images.

If you don’t have a gimbal, I recommend investing in one. Not only are gimbals, like this one, reliable, but you have fun varying your angles and poses. Gimbals are great for shooting stills from awkward angles, as well. Tip: Use this to your advantage — take some portraits and close-up photos, but experiment with different angles!

Now, let’s talk about mobile apps for editing. Before paying for premium versions, consider using free versions first and see how you like it!

Splice

A personal favorite, this video app has powerful functions with an easy-to-use interface. You can tap to trim clips, add slow-motion effects, and overlay multiple clips to create beautiful videos on the go.

InShot

Another favorite mobile video editing app — this app has nearly everything you need to edit on the go. You can edit the color of the video, add filters, add backgrounds, add stickers, add text, and even layer a video. What’s more, you can create speed curves and so much more.

Motionleap

This app allows you to add motion to pictures. You can add overlays and even make your photo look 3D with just one tap. Also, you can add moving skies and more!

Spark Camera

This video app makes it easy to record small clips together. You can shoot all of your clips in the app and when you’re done, your video is already edited together. You can also narrate your videos with voiceovers.

Which of these do you already use? Let me know below!
