Cozy Up to these 10 NYC Restaurants with Heat Lamps

I think we can all agree that one of the things we missed most in NYC during Covid-19 was going out to eat. Many NYC restaurants are in reopening phases and safely following guidelines. With cooler weather approaching, restaurants are getting creative about how to ensure their diners feel safe. I’ve flagged a few of my favorite restaurants that are using heat lamps outside to enable an open-air dining experience into the winter seasons. Support your local restaurants, dine responsibly, and, of course, stay warm at these top 10 restaurants with outdoor seating and heat lamps:

  1. Boutros (Brooklyn Heights)

Boutros Brooklyn is back and offering outdoor dining with heat lamps and takeout. Its mix of Middle Eastern and new American cuisine is delicious with shareable plates and communal tables. The bar and kitchen are open for dinner every day of the week and for brunch on Saturdays and Sundays.

  2. Brooklyn Chop House (Financial District)

The Brooklyn Chop House, located across from City Hall in Manhattan’s Financial District, is a classic steakhouse offering outdoor, heated dining. Head over here for a holiday party, a steak dinner with your family, and enjoy some cozy, safe, and delicious dining.

  3. Socarrat Paella Bar (Midtown)

Cozy up to a big dish of paella on a chilly fall or winter evening at Socarrat Paella Bar in midtown Manhattan. Head on over for tapas with a group too and sit outside under a heat lamp while safely enjoying some scrumptious Spanish fare.

  4. Charlie Bird (Soho)

Watch the hustle and bustle of Soho go by while sipping a delicious glass of wine and enjoying Charlie Bird’s seasonal farm-to-table Italian-American menu. The restaurant located at King Street and 6th Avenue is now offering heated outdoor seating.

  5. Cafe D’Alsace (UES)

Pretend you’re in France and lap up some delicious Alsatian cuisine at Manhattan’s Upper East Side French eatery, Cafe D’Alsace. Outdoor, heated dining is open every day of the week.

  6. Cafeteria (Chelsea)

A 24/7, Chelsea neighborhood staple, Cafeteria is offering heated outdoor dining all season long. So, head on over and cozy on up to a big dish of Mac n’ Cheese — open daily 10 pm through 12 pm.

  7. Sestina (East Village)

The East Village’s vegan pasta and wine bar, Sestina, is offering heated outdoor seating this winter. Sestina is the creation of a vegan chef and plant-based lifestyle guru and chef, Matthew Kenney. Check it out as it’s pretty brand new!

  8. Bar Pitti (West Village)

A West Village staple known for its people-watching, Bar Pitti now offers year-round outdoor heated seating. Safely chow down on tasty Italian eats and watch NYC life pass by!

  9. Olio e Piu (West Village)

Cozy up to a plate of pasta or pizza at this adorable West Village Italian spot — now offering heated outdoor seating.

  10. Zero Otto Nove (The Bronx)

For an authentic Italian dining experience, head up to Arthur Avenue in the Bronx to Chef Roberto Paciullo’s Zero Otto Nove. Lunch and dinner are being served outside under heated lamps.
