My 5-Day India Itinerary with G Adventures: Experience Jaipur, Agra, and Delhi

If India is on your travel list, prepare for a journey filled with vibrant colors, rich culture, and unforgettable connections. My recent 5-day adventure through Jaipur, Agra, and Delhi with G Adventures, a group travel company offering authentic accommodations and experiences, was more than just sightseeing — it was a meaningful dive into India’s communities, all while supporting Planeterra’s inspiring projects. And honestly, it was the time of my life! If you're thinking of heading to India, here's a detailed guide to the same route, packed with all the energy and impact that made this trip so incredibly memorable.

Day 1: Arriving in Jaipur - Welcome to the Pink City!

Check-In at Rajasthali Resort & Spa

Our trip began with a warm welcome in Jaipur, the Pink City, famous for its strikingly colorful architecture and vibrant street life. Upon arrival, we checked into Rajasthali Resort & Spa, a stunning blend of local charm and modern comfort. After settling in, we gathered for a welcome dinner with fellow travelers, each of us buzzing with excitement for the adventures ahead.

Day 2: GX India Summit and Evening Celebration

GX India Summit

  • Day two brought us the excitement of the GX India Summit, an event celebrating World Tourism Day and highlighting the power of community tourism. This gathering of global leaders, travelers, and change-makers was the perfect introduction to G Adventures’ mission to make travel a force for good. We had the honor of hearing from inspiring speakers like Tony Wheeler, co-founder of Lonely Planet, and Elizabeth Becker, author of Overbooked: The Exploding Business of Travel and Tourism. They shared insights into how travel can create positive change and empower local communities.

  • The energy of the day was heightened by an inspiring spoken word performance by Indian poet Aranya Johar, and TV host Ernest White II of Fly Brother added his vibrant perspective on travel as a tool for connection. These moments inspired us to think of travel as more than just an opportunity to explore new places — it’s also about making a difference.

  • Introduction to Solo-ish Adventures by G Adventures

An exciting announcement during the summit was G Adventures’ launch of Solo-ish Adventures, a new travel style designed for solo travelers who want to explore the world but with the comfort of group travel. This is ideal for anyone who wants to travel for themselves, not necessarily by themselves. These trips, led by an all-women team of Chief Experience Officers (CEOs), offer small-group experiences in 25 destinations, including India.

  • Pink Party at the Fort

The day ended with a Pink Party at a historic fort, celebrating community tourism initiatives and the inspiring work happening in India. Against the backdrop of Jaipur’s beautiful architecture, we danced, laughed, and felt the true spirit of connection that this trip was all about.

Day 3: Heritage Walk, Old City Tour, and Journey to Agra

Morning Heritage Walk and Old City Tour

  • We kicked off day three with a visit to Amber Palace, one of Jaipur’s most famous landmarks. This magnificent palace, made of red sandstone and marble, felt like stepping into a fairytale. Walking through the grand courtyards and admiring the mirrored halls made it easy to imagine the royal life that once filled these walls.

Afterward, we embarked on a heritage walk through Jaipur’s Old City, learning about the city’s unique blend of Mughal and Rajput architecture. Our local guide shared fascinating stories about the ancient lanes, colorful markets, and the significance of Jaipur’s famous pink walls.

Afternoon visit to Planeterra Marketplace

  • In the afternoon, we visited the Planeterra Marketplace, where social enterprises supported by G Adventures' non-profit arm showcased their products and services. It was inspiring to see how these initiatives are empowering local communities and helping to preserve cultural heritage. I highly recommend supporting these businesses if you’re looking for meaningful souvenirs and interactions.

Drive to Agra

  • With Jaipur’s vibrant culture behind us, we began our scenic drive to Agra. The journey offered beautiful views of the countryside and lively conversation with fellow creators, all of us eager for the next stop.

  • Check-In at Jaypee Hotel

Upon arrival in Agra, we checked into the Jaypee Hotel, a peaceful retreat after a day full of exploration.

Day 4: Exploring Agra - Sheroes Hangout and the Taj Mahal

Sheroes Hangout

  • We began day four with a visit to Sheroes Hangout, an inspiring café run by acid attack survivors and supported by Planeterra. This café is more than just a place to eat — it’s a symbol of resilience and empowerment. The women who run it shared their stories of survival and strength, leaving us deeply moved. Dining at Sheroes Hangout was one of the most meaningful moments of the trip, a reminder of the power of community support and human courage.

Visit to the Taj Mahal

  • Next, we visited the Taj Mahal, and as expected, it was nothing short of awe-inspiring. No photograph can truly capture the beauty of this monument. Its intricate design, stunning symmetry, and the love story behind its construction are as captivating as they are legendary. For anyone visiting, I highly recommend going at sunrise or sunset when the light gives the marble a magical glow.

Traveler Tip: Visit the Taj Mahal at sunrise or sunset for the best experience — it's a sight you'll never forget.

Day 5: Discovering Delhi’s Culture with Salaam Baalak & a Culinary Adventure

Drive to Delhi and Check-In at Maidens Hotel

  • Our final day began with an early drive to Delhi, India’s bustling capital city. We checked into the charming Maidens Hotel, where colonial architecture meets modern luxury, giving us a comfortable base for our last day of exploration.

Youth-Led Tour with Salaam Baalak

  • In the morning, we joined a youth-led city tour with Salaam Baalak, an organization supported by Planeterra that trains former street children in tourism and hospitality. This tour was incredibly personal, as our guides shared their stories of resilience and growth. Through their eyes, we saw a side of Delhi often missed by tourists — one filled with hope and transformation.

Namaste Delhi Food Tour

  • Our culinary adventure in Delhi continued with a food tour organized by Namaste Delhi. We tasted everything from masala chai to samosas, each bite a reflection of Delhi’s rich food culture. If you’re a food lover, this is a must-do! Book the same Delhi food tour here!

Farewell Dinner

  • We closed the day with a farewell dinner, celebrating the incredible journey we had shared, the connections we made, and the impact we witnessed along the way.
